Canine Coordinator

Join our vibrant team at Animal Loving Care as a Canine Chaos Coordinator! This dynamic role is essential in ensuring that our dog daycare runs smoothly and that every furry guest enjoys a fun, safe, and engaging environment. As a Canine Chaos Coordinator, you will oversee playgroups, facilitate activities, and ensure the well-being of our canine clients while maintaining a positive atmosphere. Pay is competitive and based on experience, with opportunities for growth within our organization.

  • Availability is required on weekends and flexible weekday shifts (Full-time and Part-time options available)
  • Must have prior experience in dog handling and be comfortable with dogs of various sizes and temperaments
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with a team and independently is a must
  • Must have a positive attitude and a strong work ethic; energy and enthusiasm for working with dogs is crucial
  • Must be physically fit as the job involves active play and monitoring of the dogs
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Must be looking for long-term work. This position requires significant training and we are seeking candidates who can see themselves committing to this work for at least one year.
  • MUST be eligible to work in the United States

Irene

Irene is an animal enthusiast who has volunteered with rescues, dog walked, and pet sat before apprenticing with ALC groomers and rising in the ranks. She is a self-motivated, detailed groomer who continues learning every day. Irene has three cats and a poodle mix who she practices on (and tries new styles with) regularly.

Analise

Analise is a knowledgeable animal handler who previously worked in Manhattan doggy daycares and  grooming establishments before studying under a certified master groomer to become a pet stylist. She joined the ALC spaw part time in summer of 2022 while completing her bachelor’s degree. She says “building a trusted, long-term relationship with my clients is priceless to me, and it truly is a treat working with different puppers each day.”

Jennifer

Jennifer is a NYC-native who began grooming as a way to express her creativity and love for animals. She joined the ALC team in spring of 2022 after doing personalized in-home grooming for a roster of beloved clients. Jennifer has a background in dance and the arts.

Melody

Melody became part of groom team ALC in spring 2022 after previously working in another high-end NYC salon. She has aspirations to become a competition groomer and loves learning more about her craft. Melody is concurrently pursuing a degree in animal behavior science. She has also worked as a traveling groomer and has done charitable grooming for families in need. She grooms all breeds and kitties, too.

Mie

Mie is a graduate of the New York School of Grooming, class of 2008. Mie has been an integral part of ALC since 2008. On top of being an all-star groomer Mie is also an avid marathoner and a loyal member of a running team in Manhattan. “The best part of my day is seeing how happy both owner and pup are after the groom is done.”

Gabby

Gabby joined ALC in spring of 2017 after apprenticing and working with a senior groomer in salons in Brooklyn and the Bronx. Gabby quickly became a master at handling dogs and cats who have anxiety with grooming. She is a music lover and is often seen singing and dancing with the pets she grooms. She is Pet CPR certified.

Lexa

Lexa is a self-proclaimed “crazy dog mom,” obsessed with her maltese, Casper, who motivated her to do work that would help dogs in some way. “As a groomer, I provide valuable health-related services and can build meaningful relationships with the pets and owner,” she says. Lexa did her grooming apprenticeship at ALC via Animal Behavioral College and is now a certified groomer.

Alex

With 25 years of experience, Alex came to ALC as a New York transplant from his hometown of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. There, after a stint in the Air Force, he studied to become a groomer under a mentor and eventually opened his own salon, which he ran for 12 years. He has mentored many budding groomers along the way including some of ALC’s own. Alex enjoys photography, travel, surfing, snowboarding and plays in a forró band.
