Local Emergency Contact Required for Boarding

Due to several recent instances where emergency contacts were not updated, or proved unavailable or unwilling to help in an emergency, we have been left with no choice but to address this matter seriously.

In the event of an extenuating circumstance that would make it difficult or unsafe for your pup to remain in our care, such as a dangerous change in behavior, an injury, or other serious medical issue, it is imperative that we have a reliable emergency contact who can assist us promptly. As always, we ask that you ensure the contact(s) you leave will not be traveling with you and will be available to help should the need arise.

Effective immediately, if no capable emergency contact is provided and the need to move your dog out of the facility arises, a fee of $200 will be charged to cover the costs of time and staffing in making special arrangements to care for your dog in an alternative fashion. This is not inclusive of any vet care costs or fees to transport and stay with your dog at a vet appointment.

Please be assured that we would never contact the designated emergency contact for standard issues that may arise during a dog’s stay, such as separation anxiety, upset tummies, or minor scrapes and scratches. Our team has the experience and expertise to provide care in these situations, and we understand the importance of a reasonable, respectful approach to this.

We genuinely appreciate your understanding and cooperation in this matter so that together we can make your furry family member’s stay with us a safe and enjoyable experience.

Warmly,
Team ALC
